years, the new headquarters of the Norddeutsche Landesbank stands

as a landmark high-rise, gleaming with transparence, courageous

German office complexes. Designed by the internationally renowned

Stuttgart-based firm of Behnisch, Behnisch & Partner, the

structure provides an attractive workplace for the bank's 1,500

employees, while simultaneously infusing the city space with new

impulses, a pleasant public inner courtyard, and an attractive

annex housing shops and restaurants. This publication presents the

complex in all its ***ects, from the initial design competition to

the building phase to completion.
